Well, if you look at the eyes, they are those of a Great Horned Owl. Cover the big "eyes" and you'll see a fox. Turn him upside down and he's a Barn Owl. See the upper corners of the upper wings--a pair of snakes. And it's hard to see, but right in the center, when his body is combined with the wing markings, you'll see a HUGE spider! He's got all sorts of natural protections from predators, because they think he's a predator himself!
Had to throw in a sunrise view from the office!
Do you remember that I went to Norway a few years ago to visit my friend Bjorg? There are some GREAT blog photos in older posts...anyway, Bjorg gave me a cutting from an amazingly beautiful plant that she had. It's finally blooming, three years later!
So, I mentioned we had SNOW! And more snow! Here's my cute little cottage, all snowed in!
This is my street. Isn't it beautiful?
You'd better watch out--I'm a pretty good shot!
We had a visitor inside the barn today--a female Kestral. She had killed a couple of chickadees, and I watched her eat one. I think she'll be a frequent visitor now that she's discovered the snack bar. There is a male flying around outside, so I suspect we'll see little Kestrals in a few months.
Ranger couldn't wait to play in the snow.
Hey, Mom, watcha doin'? Come play with me!Ranger loves to cuddle and kiss. This is our first portrait of 2011! Aren't we a cute couple?
