Slots and sl#ts

The San Francisco airport always has a wonderful display on the concourse between the main terminal and the 70 & 80 gates. This season old slot machines are featured. Most of the beautiful old slot machines were destroyed around Prohibition, but some fine examples remain.

This one is made of intricately carved oak, silver, polished brass and enamel. There are 3 slots in one case so that it would be taxed as one item since it only has 4 legs and one case, thereby saving the owner quite a bit of money. Some establishments had single machines.
Horse-racing slots! I remember a board game like this when I was little. You spun the dial, then moved your plastic horse along the cardboard slot. I made Grandpa play that with me for HOURS!
Really? You really wore this to fly across the country in an airplane? You thought it was day-wear and it looked good? REALLY?
No. No, no, no, no. NO! What, in your head, said BUY THESE?????
Spotted this cutie at the stock show. What a little cowboy!Hmmm....I know we said, "Flame broiled," but did you think we meant it? Look up at the ceiling--it was on fire too!
Whew...fire's out...
Whooops...NO IT'S NOT! It's a GREASE FIRE, dude!
Didn't know if the iphone would capture the moon and Mars. You can see Mars just at the end of the "ray" at the 9:30 position. It's just a little dot, but it's there!
Happy stargazing, and I'm beating John in Scrabble right now! Whoo-hooo!
